KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: April 26, 2021 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for the Vantage <br />Highway Project, CRP 298-19. <br />BACKGROUND: The Vantage Highway Project will provide an asphalt overlay to build <br />surface depth and structural capacity and install or upgrade guardrail <br />to protect hazardous slopes in the same location (MP 21.25 — MP <br />27.51). <br />The work is being completed with Federal Funding from the Highway <br />Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), State Funding from the Rural <br />Arterial Program (RAP), and local road maintenance funding from <br />Public Works. The engineers estimated range for construction is: <br />$3,900,000.00 to $4,300,000.00. <br />Call for bids are advertised in the legal newspaper and the Daily <br />Journal of Commerce. <br />Bids are scheduled to be delivered by LOAM Thursday, May 20, 2021 <br />and will be opened at the Public Works office. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for the Vantage <br />Highway Project and direct staff to advertise as requested. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Call for Sealed Bids <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson <br />County Engineer <br />
