<br />This call for sealed bids is for the Vantage Highway Pavement and Guardrail Replacement Project. Bids are due by
<br />Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:00 am, at which time bids will no longer be accepted.
<br />Sealedbids will be received by the Kittitas County Public Works, at the reception desk located at 411 North Ruby Street,
<br />Suite 1, Ellensburg, Washington until 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 20, 2021 and will then and there be opened and
<br />publicly read for the construction of the Vantage Highway Pavement and Guardrail Replacement Project.
<br />All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in
<br />an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such
<br />contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid
<br />proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Kittitas County Public Works.
<br />The right is reserved to reject any and all bids and to waiver informalities in the bidding.

<br />The Kittitas County in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252,42 USC 2000d to 2000d-4 and
<br />Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21,
<br />Nondiscrimination in Federally- Assisted Programs of the Department of "transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby
<br />notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement,
<br />disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR. Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response
<br />to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration
<br />for an award.
<br />This project has a DBE Goal of 11%
<br />The improvement for which bids will be received is described below
<br />The Work to be performed within 60 (sixty) working days from the date of Notice to Proceed consists of furnishing all
<br />materials, equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental thereto for:
<br />This Contract provides for resurfacing the entire length of the project, approximately 6.26 miles of Vantage Highway with
<br />fiber reinforced HMA and a pre -level layer on approximately
<br />4.4 miles of Vantage Highway as shown on the plans. The project will remove all existing guardrail within the project limits
<br />and construct new guardrail and shoulder grading, and a structural earth wall. Additional items of'work include, but are not
<br />limited to, new guideposts, permanent signage, pavement marking, two driveway aprons, and removal of structures and
<br />obstructions, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.
<br />Special Considerations: The WSDOT I-90 Stevens Road to Vantage Paving Project is scheduled for early summer 2021
<br />construction. To avoid overlapping project schedules, the first working day for this project shall be no earlier than July 6,
<br />2021 and no later than August 2, 2021.
<br />Engineer's estimated range for the project is $3.9-$4.3 Million.
