Yakima Basin, with a focus on the upper Yakima and its tributaries in the County. He drafted a technical
report for a client, describing market activity of sales and leases of water rights in terms of water volume
transacted, frequency, and unit price. His analysis detailed water transfer activity by market sector,
including mitigation banking. Through this study, Erik became familiar with the operations and pricing
for all private and public water hanks in the region, including the County's bank. Part of Erik's study
included an absorption rate analysis for the banks, a key metric to understand the economics of regional
water banking.
