4/19/2021 MINUTES 2 <br />seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION PHIL BACKLUND BOCC RETREAT COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board had follow-up discussion from the week prior, and <br />discussed options to consider in planning a retreat/meeting for the <br />Board to develop their goals and vision for the County etc. They <br />agreed to one full day meeting with Mr. Backlund and then would re- <br />group after to see if the Board would like to continue with the <br />proposed weekly 90-minute meetings. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION CWU FEDERAL REQUESTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board discussed the proposed Federal Funding Requests on Central <br />Washington University (CWU) is requesting and determined two of the <br />three they were comfortable supporting, those being an ask of $10.73 <br />million to construct a hangar to serve the BS Aviation Program at <br />Bowers Field Airport and the second being a 9.6 million request for <br />the Ellensburg Multimodal Transportation Hub. Commissioner Wright <br />stated he had a meeting with CWU later in the day and would get <br />further clarification of the 3rd request. He asked the Board to <br />consider the request for that support until later on. Commissioner <br />Osiadacz was tasked with drafting letters for the Board to consider <br />supporting CWU’s Federal Funding request’s for items one and two. <br /> <br />UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis. The assignments for 2021 were <br />determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin meeting <br />on 1-11-2021. <br /> <br />Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective <br />departments and exchanged details of those meetings. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board determined for the week of April 19, 2021 they would post <br />on their Facebook page two Press Releases relating to the New <br />Courthouse Committee and the Bowling Alley Committee and a post <br />recruiting for the YBFWRB for a Citizen Committee Member(s) (repeat <br />of last week since they were not done). <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES <br /> <br />There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the <br />Board participated in, individually over the past week. <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:29 a.m.
