Public Notice <br />Kittitas County, Ellensburg WA <br />NOTICE OF FTINDS AVAILABILITY (NOFA) <br />CAPITAL PROJECT foT HOMELESS LINITS <br />Homelessness and Affordable Housing Funding <br />The Kittitas County Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee (HAHC) is seeking grant applications to address <br />local homelessness and affordable housing priorities. The Kittitas HAHC is soliciting applicitions io address the issues <br />presented by homelessness and affordable housing in Kittitas County and the Strategic Objectives outlined under Objective <br />4 of the Kittitas County Homeless and Affordable Housing Plan updated in Decembir 2019. <br />The Kittitas HAHC analyzedthe needs of people experienci,ng homelessness in Kittitas County by reviewing the Homeless <br />Point in Time count data, Homeless Management Information System data, results from a survey of co--unity members <br />and housing providers, a survey of people experiencing homelessness, and meetings with elected officials. The goal in <br />Kittitas Counfy now is to make homelessness rare, brief, and a one-time event. Uniil the underlying social issuei that lead <br />people to become homeless are addressed, The Plan is to prevent homelessness whenever possitle and help people quickly <br />regain stable housing and overcome their barriers to sustaining that housing. <br />Actions outlined in the Strategic Objectives Matrices Section of the plan are intended to address homelessness by promoting <br />a continuum of housing and support services that augment individual an<i family stability, resiliency, and economic <br />independence. <br />Eligibility: Eligible applicants consist of local nonprofit housing providers and nonprofit organizations, State and local <br />governments, instrumentalities of local govemments, and public housing agencies. Priority is given to applicants who <br />propose to target services to individuals who are chronically homeless, literally homeless or at risk of homelessness, seniors <br />or disabled, as well as those with prior experience delivering services to the taiget population. Shovel-ready projects will be <br />given the highest priority. <br />Length of Awards: Reimbursable grant, the project must be completed within 24 months of award, unless otherwise <br />authorized by the Board of County Commissioners. <br />Available Funding for Awards: The amount available for this award period is approximately $400,000.00. <br />Anticipated Number of Awards: It is anticipated that Kittitas County HAHC will have funding available for l-2 new <br />awards. <br />Grant Applications: Grant Applications will be released on Wednesday, April /th,2021and the deadline submission is <br />Friday, May 14th, 2021 at4:00 pm.
