Board of lealth Minutes February 18, 2021 2 of 2 Legislative Update Tristen Lamb gave a brief update regarding House Bill 1152, which has been removed from consideration at this time in its current form, but a substitute bill has been submitted, and House Bill 1110. Department updates Health Officer Update Dr. Mark Larson updated the board on the following topics: • New masking guidance from the CDC • New quarantine guidance for those immunized against COVID-19 • COVID-19 strain variants • Testing numbers in Kittitas County • Local schools (K-12 and university) • Washington State re -opening metrics There were questions from the board regarding the timelines of COVID-19 reinfection and vaccine efficacy and testing recommendations for vaccinated vs. non -vaccinated. Dr. Larson also informed the board of the discussion at the state level about school re -opening with social distancing guidelines, and partnerships to use federal vaccine doses for agricultural workers. BOCC Action Items Approval of Emerge ncy H ire Tristen Lamb explained the role and funding for the hire of a Vaccine Coordinator. The board gave approval forgoing forward with this hire. Request to approve contract between NACCHO and Kittitas County Public Health Tristen Lamb and Kasey Knutson briefly reviewed and explained what the NACCHO contract would entail and asked for approval. Motion to approve the contract between NACCHO and Kittitas County Public Health Motion 02-02: Motion to approve the contract between NACCHO and Kittitas County Public Health. Laura Osiadacz moved to approve the contract between NACCHO and Kittitas County Public Health. Brett Wachsmith second. All approved.
