Future Plans*The Washington State Ski & Snoi, tboard Museum has plans to make this program
self-sustain ing,
Previously, WSSSM marketing epenses had been utilized for printed rack cards,
brochures, posters, a basicwebsite, Facebook, and email campaigns. ln 2019, r,re
did a major ralebsite revamp, and added lnstagram, YouTube, and some limited
paid Facebook advertising to our social media efforts. We have also found larger 6
x 9 direct mail postcards to our mailing list to be an effective way of generating
RSVPs for our events. Each year, \,\,e pay for WSDOT freeway signage advertising
the museum on l-90.
ln 2019, we also invested marketing dollars to create a WSSSM booth with free-
standing signage, table signage and givear, vays, including WSSSM pens, Bob Cram
notecards, WSSSM stickers, WSSSM gift tags. and most recently WSSSM
stylusipens for use in the museum during Covid. This booth has gotten
considerable usage at our o\,4/lr events. Warren Miller movies, Ski Bonkers and
event at The Summit at Snoqualnrie.
After investing dollars in WSSSM's digital and in person marketing presence the
past t\ io years. with ihe help of the Kitiitas County Lodging Tax Grani r € are now
ready to invest in a paid digital campaign with a targeted, supported print
canrpaign. This campaign will have three components:
1. General Museum Awareness/MarketinglTourismA/isit Us Campaign which will
change by season for 2021
2. New Snovrboarding Exhibit Set to Operr in 2021
3. 5th Anniversary Celebration Events in 2021 (planned for spring)
25C0 character lin'ii
Application Questions: Parl 4
6l Additional lnformation
Provide any additional information which will assist the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee in evaluating your
project and its benefit to tourism.
2020 lnformation lf you hatl a planne,tl event in 2020. whetlrcr il was ade lo take place or rrot, please describe any sr:cc;esses and
challerrges you experienced.
Due to Covid, WSSSM's doors rrcre closed from March 1O-September 26,2020.
While this time frame is not typically one in rirhich \lue host events, it is one that sees
a busy summer travel season of visitors to the museum. Surprisinc to some,
WSSSM is just as busy in the summer as it is in the winter. What was impacted, rivas
WSSSM's partner programs with Dru Bru, The Sunrmit at Snoqualmie, and others.
ln the fall of 2019, WSSSM has many discussions with Dru Bru about partnering
our spaces iogether to host a series of events including lectures, music. and beer
tastings, and other private events. We were also set to sponsor Dru Bru's already
successful tunnel run. Due to Covid, these events were not able to get siarted in
2420. Our events typically planned for the late fall of 2020, have been moved to
the Spring of 2021 .
2500 character'liml
