Industry Career Path - RWP recertification requirements: <br />Recertification requirements consist of forty-eight (48) CEUs (continuing education <br />units/hours) from IRWA approved courses. Attendance could be in a classroom setting <br />or online as a student or as a classroom instructor, and can be completed as follows: <br />1. IRWA coursework including 8 CEUs of ethics course – a minimum of 24 CEUs <br />2. Additional IRWA coursework, or IRWA sponsored events (includes Annual <br />International Education Conference, approved Chapter/Region Educational events <br />– up to 24 CEUs, or <br />3. Non-IRWA courses, conferences, seminars from outside Education Vendors – up <br />to 24 CEUs. <br />Please note: <br />• RWPs taking IRWA courses for recertification credits are not required to take the course <br />exam for classroom classes. For IRWA online courses, however, exam must be taken <br />to obtain recertification credits. <br />• Same course(s) attended or instructed twice or more during a 5-year recertification <br />period will only get credit once. <br />• Ethics courses will only apply towards the ethics requirement – 102 or 103 or 104. <br />• Non-IRWA and local IRWA Chapter courses/seminars/conferences related to right of <br />way and/or real estate that will benefit the continuing education of IRWA Certified right <br />of way professionals no longer require approval for recertification credit from the IPEC, <br />Credentialing Sub-Committee. <br />• There is no carryover of CEUs from one 5-year period to the next even when that CEUs <br />have not been used on your previous 5-year period. <br />• Attendance or completion certificates from non-IRWA and local IRWA Chapter <br />courses/seminars/conferences must be kept in your personal file and must ONLY be <br />submitted to Headquarters along with your recertification application when you are due <br />for recertification. <br />• For questions on recertification requirements, please contact the Credentialing <br />Manager at 310-538-0233, ext. 123. <br />
