A desktop review has identified the proposed project
area as extending into the boundaries of KT01380, an historic archaeological site that has been
determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. As such, an archaeological
exaction permit from our agency will be required (see RCW 27.53). The required work for the
permit will involve a cultural resource survey and, depending on the results of the study,
archaeological testing and data recovery may be necessary.

These comments are based on the information available at the time of this review and on behalf
of the SHPO in conformance with Washington State law. Should additional information become
available, our assessment may be revised.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this project and we look forward to receiving the
survey report. Please ensure that the DAHP Project Number (a.k.a. Project Tracking Code) is
shared with any hired cultural resource consultants and is attached to any communications or
submitted reports. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,

Sincerely,

Sydney Hanson
Transportation Archaeologist
(360) 280-7563
Sydney.Hanson@dahp.wa.gov
Index #37
