Planning Commission and the Department of Ecology, this is <br />currently scheduled for February 9, 2021. Next step is a public <br />hearing with the Board that is tentatively planned for April 21, <br />2021. When this step is completed, it goes back to Ecology for <br />30 days for review and approval. The Critical Area Ordinance <br />update is expected to be ready within the first half of the <br />year. Our hired consultant is currently finishing up a <br />PowerPoint video that can be uploaded to our website for people <br />to view the changes. The Planning Commission will hold their <br />hearing on March 9, 2021. It will then go before the Board <br />tentatively on April 7, 2021. <br />2018 BUILDING CODE CYCLE UPDATE <br />CDS Director Dan Carlson presented an update on the 2018 <br />building code cycle. On Friday, January 8, 2021 the State <br />Building Code Council voted to extend the deadline for the new <br />cycle to take effect from February 1, 2021 to July 1, 2021. The <br />Governor has seven days to veto this decision. Since currently <br />there is a lot of uncertainty, it is being requested to cancel <br />the hearing set with the Board on January 19, 2021 and to <br />reschedule after the decision is resolved.
