WHY IS THE WORK (NEEDED? <br />GAP Identified <br />Lack of equipment, supplies and specialized training for the regional SWAT team limits the operational capbailities to respond to hostile <br />threats. <br />Antiquated communication equipment. <br />- Updated ballistic protection. <br />Training must be constant due to updated tactics and techniques in an ever evolving discipline. <br />WABIUTYsustained or enhanced <br />The equipment, supplies, and training will enhance the operational readiness and response capabilities for the regional SWAT team. <br />ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED <br />Purchase response equipment for Regional SWAT team to include PPE and communciation related Items. <br />Ensure SWAT team receives specialized tactical training to include explosive breach (02EX-00-EXTR & 21GN-MTRNG). <br />ASSOCIATED DELIVERABLES/OUTPUTS <br />The Regional team will be better prepared, equipped, and trained during response to incidents. <br />DESIRED OUTCOMES <br />The regional SWATwill be able to more effectively help out neighboring jurisdictions and experience enhanced operator safety during <br />missions. <br />DHS-FEMA-HSGP-SHSP-FFY20 Page 38 of 41 Kittitas, County of, E21-082 <br />
