This will grant the District access to <br />nearly 80 million gallons in Kittitas County. This is in addition to the 54 million gallons we currently have in King <br />County. A unique and significant step for the District to meet the growth that is occurring at Snoqualmie Pass. I say <br />unique since it is a foreign water right. If not granted, the District would have to attempt to purchase water rights from <br />the lower county and transfer up to the pass. So what we accomplished is a win for the upper and lower county. <br />On Monday the District will award the contract to construct phase 1 of the new wastewater plant. The District will <br />construct a membrane bio reactor treatment facility. The cost is $4.6 million (estimates were $3.1). The project is <br />approved and funded by the USDA. Construction will start as soon as the snow melts. We hope to start phase 2 of the <br />wastewater plant in 2023. <br />This summer will work on a well sighting project and find the best locations to drill some wells. We are also working <br />with the DOE on getting approved for a non -consumptive well. This would be a well strictly used for snow making and <br />may only be 10% consumptive. Which is great so that we do not use up too much of our potable water rights.
