12/28/2020 MINUTES 2 EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS At 9:04 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced the Board would recess into Executive Session for 5 minutes with Jeanne Killgore, HR Representative, to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140(4), discussion by a governing body of salaries, wages, and other conditions of employment to be generally applied within the agency shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and when a governing body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual employee or class of employees, or discharging or disciplining an employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting open to the public. No action was anticipated. At 9:09 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No action taken. LETTER SOLID WASTE GRANT SOLID WASTE Commissioner Wright moved to approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on a letter regarding a Commitment of Funds, Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Hazard Mitigation Grant (BRIC) for the Kittitas County Washington Waste Transfer Station Flood Mitigation. Chairman Wachsmith seconded. Motion carried 2-0. DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS There were no items to add for the weekly Facebook posts on the Commissioners page. OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the Board participated in, individually over the past week. The Board agreed to notify the Human Resources Department to schedule interviews for the top 2 candidates for the Public Relations Administrator position. The Board discussed the Courthouse Advisory Committee and how seven members would be comprised of two members from each District and the seventh would be a City of Ellensburg resident from either District #1 or #3.
