Seattte Master Builders Association, Seattle WA <br />Executive Director <br />served as the chief administer for a regional homebuilder trade association of <br />1,400 firms. Administered the industry's federal, state, and local governmental <br />affairs program largely focused on issues of infrastructure, planning, growth <br />management, and codes. staff of 20 - annual combined program budget of $7 <br />million. <br />Washington Forest Protection Association, Olympia, WA <br />Director of Land-Use Programs <br />served as a local government and state legislative specialist in land-use <br />planning related issues for a 110 year old forest products trade association <br />representing 8 million acres of commercial forest and urban development <br />property in washington state. Issues of forest land preservation, urban/forest <br />interface conflict management, visual management of harvestinq practices, <br />shorelines protection, and rural planning were the primary focus' spearheaded <br />the adoption of model comprehensive plan and zoning provisions in 22 <br />counties. Employed in forest economics and marketing <br />reseaich, forest policy, and in a forest planning capacit-v while olrtaining my <br />undergraduate and graduate degrees. As a member of the Virginia Tech <br />Forestry school Fire crew I also fought fires for usDA Forest service during <br />the spring and Fall East coast fire seasons for three years. utilized by the <br />Forest service as a legislative intern in the development and passage of the <br />Resources Planning Act of 1974.
