BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - <br />AWARDING COMBINED HIGHWAY INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM FUNDS AND <br />SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BLOCK FUNDS TO THE CITY OF ELLENSBURG <br />SUPPORTING THE UNIVERSITY WAY AND REECER CREEK ROAD TRAFFIC <br />SIGNAL PROJECT <br />WHEREAS: Federal Transportation Funding is available to local agencies via the Surface <br />Transportation Block Grant program administered by Kittitas Department of <br />Public Works; and <br />WHEREAS: Recent construction savings earned during 2020 construction have been made <br />available for reinvestment by the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners <br />(Highway Infrastructure Program and Surface Transportation Block Grant <br />"STBG" funds); and <br />WHEREAS: A Surface Transportation Block Grant application (University/Reecer <br />signalization) has been received from the City of Ellensburg for available urban <br />funds within the grant program; and <br />WHEREAS: The total money available from 2020 construction savings and 2021 STBG Urban <br />funding is $427,309 that can be awarded to the City of Ellensburg; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby award the City of Ellensburg $427,309 in combined <br />Highway Infrastructure Program and in Surface Transportation Block Grant funds supporting the <br />signalization of University Way and Reecer Creek Road. <br />DATED this 15th day of December 2020, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
