M eeti ng Tou rism : 2020 Tactics <br />2020 is a Planning Year <br />The Ellensburg meeting tourism program will take time to establish, especially given the additionalwork <br />undertaken for sports and leisure tourism. We anticipate that 2020 will be a year of planning, with the <br />actualwork effort not beginning until 202L. <br />1- Fund Meeting Tourism Coordinator and Establish Advisory Group <br />a) Fund staff to develop meeting tourism outreach and promotional effort. The outreach work is <br />a good match for the staff person doing sports tourism outreach. (Would require additional <br />investment.) <br />b) Develop advisory group of representatives of main event facilities and develop process for <br />collaboration. This should include outlining the approach for responding to meeting RFPs and <br />sharing leads that come in through the meetings tourism coordinator. <br />2. tusess, Establish 6oals <br />a) Establish baseline for number of meetings of outside groups currently being hosted in <br />Ellensburg in key meeting facilities.
