BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF HITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2020 - <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF A SPEED ZONE AND THE PLACEMENT OF SPEED LIMIT <br />SIGNS ON THRALL ROAD AND AMENDING SECTION 10.08.020 SPEED LIMITS OF <br />HITTITAS COUNTY CODE <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works recently conducted a speed study of Thrall Road <br />(MP 0.05 to MP 1.10); and <br />WHEREAS: The Board of Kittitas County Commissioners did hold a public hearing on Tuesday, <br />November 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm to hear public testimony regarding the establishment <br />of a 35 mile per hour (MPH) speed zone and placement of speed limit signs on the <br />above listed road; and <br />WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners have determined that 35 mile <br />per hour speed limit is appropriate speed limit for Thrall Road from MP 0.05 to MP <br />1.10; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners, after due deliberation and in the best interest of the public, does <br />hereby establish a 35 mph speed limit on Thrall Road at MP 0.05 to MP 1.10 and <br />authorizes the placement of speed limit signs at the above stated locations and <br />amends Kittitas County Code Section 10.08.020 as indicated in Exhibit A. <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance will become effective upon the installation of <br />the appropriate signage. <br />DATED this 17th day of November 2020 at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
