Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF <br />KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE KITTITAS COUNTY AIRPORT DIRECTOR <br />TO NEGOTIATE, ENTER INTO, AND APPROVE CONTRACTS WITH A VALUE OF <br />LESS THAN $25,000 <br />Resolution 2020-__________ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners has the <br />authority to make such contracts as may be necessary to their corporate or <br />administrative powers, and to do all necessary acts in relation to the property of the <br />County pursuant to RCW 36.0 1.010; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners can delegate <br />to its agents or officers certain corporate or administrative powers, such as contracting <br />authority, pursuant to RCW 36.01.030; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of C ounty Commissioners has <br />previously delegated to other County departments and offices the specific authority to <br />negotiate, enter into, and approve contracts for expenditures, purchases, or other <br />contractual obligations for property, goods, or services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Airport Director, in carrying out the duties for <br />Bowers Field, is frequently called upon to sign contracts, administrative agreements, or <br />sub-agreements with relatively low risk and dollar value; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is an inefficient and expensive use of staff time and resources <br />for the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners to review and approve all <br />airport related contracts, regardless of amount; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Kittitas County <br />Board of County Commissioners authorizes the Kittitas County Airport Director to <br />negotiate, enter into, and approve contracts for expenditures, purchases, or other <br />contractual obligations for property, goods, or services with a monetary value of less <br />than $25,000. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provisions of Resolution 2009 -22, <br />which requires all contracts to be reviewed and approved as to form by the Prosecutor's <br />Office before the contract is signed, and which also directs the Auditor's Office to deny <br />payment for any contract not reviewed and approved by the Prosecutor's Office, shall
