BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - <br />RATIFY THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON LETTER TO ECOLOGY PROVING PUBLIC <br />HEARING NOTIFICATION <br />WHEREAS: The Kittitas Reclamation District and West Side Irrigating Company submitted a <br />petition to the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners to form a joint <br />control board; and <br />WHEREAS: Washington State Law contemplates a joint irrigation control board in Revised <br />Code of Washington 87.80; and <br />WHEREAS: On October 12, 2020 the Board of County Commissioners set a Public Hearing <br />for November 12, 2020 to consider the petition submitted by the Kittitas <br />Reclamation District and West Side Irrigating Company; and <br />WHEREAS: RCW 87.80.050 requires that a copy of the public notice for the hearing be mailed <br />to the Department of Ecology at Olympia at least thirty days prior to the date of <br />the hearing; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the Chair's signature on the October 12, 2020 <br />letter to the department of ecology providing notification of a public hearing to consider <br />formation of a joint control board. <br />DATED this 20th day of October 2020, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
