KITTITAS COUNTY <br />AIRPORT DEPARTMENT <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: September 28, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Demonstrate the Board of County <br />Commissioners Support for the Airport Loan Application and <br />Authorize the Director of Airport Operations Signature on Loan <br />Application Documents for Bowers Field East Hangar Taxilane and <br />Utilities Construction <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Public Works is updating the Bowers Field Binding Site Plan to create <br />20 plus hangar lots. The Director of Airport Operations has solicited <br />possible hangar ground lease tenants and collected pre -lease deposits <br />for 10 of the lots which could accommodate 16 potential hangars. To <br />meet the need for extending the east hangar taxilane and provide <br />electrical lines to the newly created lots, the Director of Airport <br />Operations desires the Board of County Commissioners support for <br />possible funding for the construction from the Washington State <br />Department of Transportation Aviation Division Aviation <br />Revitalization Loan Program. A resolution stating the Board of <br />County Commissioners support and Board authorization to apply is <br />required with document submittal <br />INTERACTION: <br />Bowers Field/Prosecutors office which has reviewed the proposed <br />Resolution. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the Resolution to authorize the Director of Airport <br />Operations signature on WSDOT loan application. <br />HANDLING: <br />Return one original to Bowers Field <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution; Loan Application and Supporting Documents; Project <br />Justification Letter and Attachments <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Benjamin A.
