As one of the Kittitas Valley Event Center's stakeholders, those rooms are very important to the
production of our annual Labor Day Weekend event. Currently the Buckaroo Skybox is unusable due to
water damage and health and safety concerns, Nothing is more important than the health and safety of
our patrons and as such we would like to see the renovation of the Buckaroo Skybox completed.
Completion of the project would undoubtedly bring value to other renters of the facility as well.
The world-famous Ellensburg Rodeo started in 1923, when local businessmen, farmers, ranchers, and
townsmen began to feel the tug of nostalgia as airplanes, moving pictures, and automobiles started
replacing the Western lifestyle. Now one of the top destinations for professional cowboys and cowgirls,
the event also provides an economic boost to Kittitas County, whose full-time population is 4g,000. Over
the course of five days, more than 37,000 people visit and experience the family friendly, western
hospitality Ellensburg has become known for. Still held on the same historic rodeo grounds of j.923, the
outdoor event is run by a committed, all volunteer Board of Directors. The event is deeply rooted in
tradition and preserving western heritage.
Sincerely,
'h'
1]
(i\' \,"!i\-) (\-.J"
. FAX: (509) 962-7830. www.ellensburgrodeo.com
