We believe the Horse Park is a
major economic driver in Upper County and actively support the Park by leasing the ll2 acres at
$l/yem, assisting with firewising, access/egress roadway blading, supporting grant applications
such as from the RCO, providing emergency services, and actively participating in the County's
consolidated lodging tax program.
We have been closely following the covered arena progress and are anxious to see the riding
arena completed so that it can be opened for use and enjoyment, and begin generating other
community and recreational benefits. We have reviewed the remaining developrnent and
funding plan as described in the application for Tourism-Related, Small-Scale, Municipality-
Owned Capital Projects, and we request your support to complete this project.
Sincerely,
(
Mayor Jay McGowan
Enclosures
CC: Leslie Thurston, Horse Park Executive Director
Rob Omans, Cle Elum Administrator
Lucy Temple, Cle Elurn City Plarurer
Robin Newcomb, Cle Elu:n Treasurer
