Attendance Addendum
Since opening in 2013, we have had free admission to the farm. This allowed guests to pay for individual
activities. lt also allowed guests to come to the farm, take part in all the free offerings, then go home
without making a single purchase. That said, it has been our intention to review our overall pay
structure.
After attending a NAFDMA conference in February this year (which promotes agritourism across the
country), it became clear that paid admission is a must, both for us and our guests. However, while farm
after farm recommended the change, they all said it would be a horrible transition. One farm owner
called it, "the year from hell", as she described the push back they received from guests.
l've added this addendum because I briefly mention the change in our patch Covid Plan, however, I
didn't go into on the repercussions this will have on attendance.
After speaking with well over two dozen pumpkin patches from all over the country, we learned that
they saw a drop in overall attendance of 30-50% when they rolled out paid admission. That's HUGEI And
while that's terrifying to me as a business owner, I strongly believe that this is the time, both for our
bottom line and in an effort to curb attendance during the current Covid environment.
So, when we stated an average of 100-150 guests in any given hour (depending on the weekend), we
want you to understand that those numbers will drop by 3O%-5O%, putting the average hourly guest
count at 50-75 people, across the entire farm.
Finally, I would also like to point out at that a state level, pumpkin patches across Washington are
moving forward. Bob's Corn Maze & Pumpkin Farm, the largest patch in WA, is moving full steam ahead:
,G'qs,t Bob's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Farm
Yesterday at 12:32 PIM O
You guys asked and here is our answer... you can now purchase ALL
TICKETS ONLINEI! .Join us on weekdays, weekends, frorn mid August
through the end of October!
