Mr. Cox noted the need
to update the variance code due to lot sizes. The health department has had discussions with designers
and stakeholders to keep lots buildable and have discussed the use of alternative systems. Tristen Lamb
noted that the last update to the OSS code was in 1979. The department has been in the process of
updating this code, and with the new changes to lot sizes from the state this will be a good time to get
this completed.

Upcoming proposals for code amendments
Tristen Lamb informed the board the following code amendments
• Solid Waste Regulations
• Health Order Code
• Water Resources
• OSS Code updates
• Communicable Disease in Jails

Style Guide
Katie Odiaga briefly reviewed the public health Style Guide. The Style Guide team is composed of
herself, Tristen Lamb, Chelsey Loeffers, Lianne Bradshaw and Amy Fuller. They have worked on this for
the last 6 months to help create clear communication to the public. Items in the Style Guide include font
style, color palettes, four power point presentation templates for staff to choose from, and email
signatures. The Style Guide will be implemented in the near future.

Department Staffing update/requests
Health Promotion Specialist vacancy
Tristen Lamb updated the board that Health Promotions is currently advertising for a position. Ms. Lamb
wanted to let the board know that one of the applicants is an internal staff member and is a candidate
for the position. Ms. Lamb discussed the future of the candidate’s current position and asked for
permission to start conversations with other county staff if selected.
