Exhtbiv " h" <br />Awarded Funds Transfer Request- lndependence Day Celebration <br />5t19t2020 <br />Lodging Tax Committee, <br />Because of the impacts of COVID-19, we have worked with Public Health to determine the <br />cancellation of the lndependence Day Celebration element of Pioneer Days. We are still looking <br />at ways to implement virtual parade components, and are continuing to plan for the Cle Elum <br />Fireworks Show with implemented social distancing tactics. <br />Background <br />The fireworks show will be held as usual in Memorial Park, with regular parking. To maintain <br />social distancing in 2020, this year's fireworks show will require families to stay in their own <br />vehicles, in the bed of their vehicles to observe the fireworks, or perhaps to social distance while <br />seated in the grass. Because of this year's circumstances, will be targeting this community <br />event specifically towards locals. <br />We are considering placing tape x-marks 6 feet in the Memorial Park grass area with signage to <br />encourage grass-seating while social distancing, and are working with Public Safety to <br />determine this as our timeline progresses. We are requesting that the park restrooms are open <br />for this event, and we will create handwashing mandate signage for inside the restrooms. <br />Request <br />We are requesting to return the awarded $22,886 for our 1st annual lndependence Day <br />Celebration in 2O20, and are asking that instead, we could be awarded $10,000 to produce the <br />fireworks show for this event given the current circumstances. This $10,000 would not only <br />make this socially responsible element of the event possible, but could go towards the fireworks <br />for our Santa Parade in Cle Elum later this year.
