KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: May 11, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids <br />for the Coleman Creek Culvert Replacement at <br />Vantage Highway. <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works has been working on the completion of <br />the bid package for a replacement of two fish barrier <br />culverts on Vantage Highway at Coleman Creek. The <br />work is being completed with state funding (Brain <br />Abbott fish passage program — approximately $1.3 <br />million) with supplemental funding from Public Works. <br />The engineer's estimated cost range is: $956,000.00 <br />- $1,056,000.00. <br />The bid package will include bid requests for the <br />replacement of the existing culvert crossings of <br />Vantage Highway at Coleman Creek. The project <br />consists of the construction of a County furnished pre- <br />cast 27 -ft long flat slab bridge, regrading and paving <br />Vantage Highway, constructing guardrail, installing <br />culverts and permanent signage. <br />Call for bids are advertised in the legal newspaper <br />and the Daily Journal of Commerce. <br />Bids are scheduled to be delivered by 10 AM on May <br />28, 2020 at 10:00 AM to the Public Works Department <br />and will be opened on June 1, 2020 at 9 AM. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for the <br />Coleman Creek Culvert Replacement at Vantage <br />Highway and direct staff to advertise as requested. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Call for Sealed Bids <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook <br />Director of Public Works <br />
