KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: April 27, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Accept the Department <br />of Commerce ELN Grant Upon Final Deputy Prosecuting <br />Attorney Acceptance and Authorize the Director of Airport <br />Operations to Sign Accepting the Grant <br />BACKGROUND: For the past several months, Public Works has been <br />finalizing a 2019 legislative capital grant for Bowers Field <br />with the Department of Commerce. The grant provides <br />funding for: design of runway 7/25, the development of a <br />strategic development plan and provides for a commercial <br />appraisal of airport assets. <br />The Prosecuting Attorney's Office (DPA) is currently <br />reviewing grant documents and any final changes are <br />anticipated shortly. Once the grant is in final form, ELN <br />Director West desires moving quickly implementing <br />runway design and the strategic plan. The grant provides <br />$269,500 in project funding. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Accept the Commerce Grant pending final DPA approval <br />and authorize the Director of Airport Operations to accept <br />the grant on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
