BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - <br />AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR'S SIGNATURE ON THE MEMORANDUM OF <br />UNDERSTANDING WITH MID -COLUMBIA FISHERIES ENHANCEMENT GROUP <br />RESTORING A PORTION OF MERCER CREEK <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Department of Public Works (KCDPW), the Washington State <br />Department of Fish and Wildlife and Mid -Columbia Fisheries Enhancement <br />Group (MCFEG) all desire to reduce flooding and restore habitat along a portion <br />of Mercer Creek in Ellensburg, WA; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District has budgeted its portion of the <br />restoration effort in its 2020 budget approved by the Board of County <br />Commissioners in Resolution 2019-185: and <br />WHEREAS: KCDPW desires having a Memorandum of Understanding with MCFEG defining <br />project contributions from each entity, <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the Director's signature on the MOU with <br />MCFEG supporting stream restoration efforts on Mercer Creek in Ellensburg, WA. <br />DATED this 27"' day of April, 2020, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
