a <br />a <br />a <br />(household pets, pets from veterinary clinics and sheep and or similarly sized <br />animals) shall be accepted if not infectious and securely double bagged. The <br />Company shall place double bagged carcasses in with the MSW. All costs incurred <br />by the Company with regard to dead animals shall be considered incidental to the cost <br />of operating the transfer stations. <br />Household Hazardous Waste. The Company shall continuously monitor each load <br />for Unacceptable Wastes. The Company shall exercise caution to see that customers <br />are not unloading hazardous wastes at the transfer stations. If customers are found to <br />be unloading such wastes, the Company shall stop the customer and explain they <br />must take back the wastes and schedule an appointment with the County to dispose of <br />their Household Hazardous Waste. The Company shall distribute County provided <br />flyers describing the appropriate disposal of Household hazardous wastes to <br />customers attempting to deliver household hazardous wastes and PCB wastes. <br />Should Unacceptable Waste or suspected Unacceptable Wastes be left by a customer, <br />the Company shall remove the waste and place it in containers provided by the <br />County. The following information regarding such wastes shall be recorded by the <br />Company's employee on forms provided by the County: <br />Date and time <br />Description of waste and approximate amount of waste <br />The name of the generator or transporter (including vehicle license number) if <br />possible. <br />Employee's initials <br />The above paper work shall be turned into the County monthly <br />Business Hazardous Waste. The Company shall exercise caution to see that <br />businesses are not unloading Unacceptable Waste at the transfer stations. Should a <br />business attempt to unload such wastes, the Company shall return the waste to the <br />business prior to the business leaving the transfer station. If not successful, the <br />Company shall set the waste aside in containers provided by the County for County <br />follow up, and the following information shall be noted: <br />Date and time <br />Description of waste and approximate amount of waste <br />The name of the generator or transporter (business name) if possible. <br />Employee's initials <br />Upon completion of the above paperwork by the Company, the Company shall <br />contact the County Hazardous Waste Specialist for follow up. <br />Hazardous Waste Containers. The Company shall refuse to accept from businesses <br />containers that once contained hazardous wastes unless the container has been triple- <br />rinsed (at a minimum). If businesses attempt to unload such containers, the Company <br />shall have the depositor of the container(s) sign a Certification Form, furnished by the <br />County, which certifies the container is "clean" in accordance with federal and state <br />regulations. <br />11
