BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - <br />ACCEPTING FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FUNDING ADVANCED <br />DESIGN OF BOWERS FIELD CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS SUPPORTING ONGOING <br />ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT ACTIONS <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Department of Public Works did receive notice from the Federal <br />Aviation Administration supporting its request to build a parallel taxiway and <br />reconfigure Bowers Field runway 11/29 on February 5, 2018 (Capital <br />Improvement Plan FY 2019-2023), and <br />WHEREAS: The Federal Aviation Administration did grant Kittitas County Department of <br />Public Works $302,470 in grant funds supporting the required environmental <br />assessment at Bowers Field supporting Capital project construction; and <br />WHEREAS: Century West Engineering did submit a justification of need requesting additional <br />funding for advanced design of pending capital improvements necessary for the <br />environmental determination; and <br />WHEREAS: The Federal Aviation Administration is offering an additional $429,891 in <br />funding supporting Public Works request for advanced design of pending capital <br />improvements at Bowers Field; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby accept Federal Aviation Administration funding for <br />advanced design of pending capital improvements at Bowers Field in the amount of $429,891. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners does authorize the <br />Director of Operations at Bowers Field to accept FAA funding on behalf of the Board. <br />DATED this 19th day of May 2020, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY.
