01/19/2016 MINUTES 2 <br />letter they received from Monica Miller, Gallery One Executive <br />Director, requesting that the arts industry be included. It was <br />noted that Staff would engage with them during the next round of <br />reviewing the document. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER JEWELL reviewed several typographical errors within the <br />Plan that needed to be corrected. <br /> <br />CHAIRMAN O’BRIEN noted for the record that he was a previous Board <br />member of HopeSource and that one of the projects in the plan <br />involved that agency. <br /> <br />THERE BEING NO ONE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE <br />HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2016-014 REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER JEWELL moved to approve Resolution No. 2016-014, <br />Adopting the Kittitas & Yakima Counties Regional Comprehensive <br />Economic Development Plan, and direct Staff to correct the <br />typographical errors within the Plan, as noted by the Board. <br />COMMISSIONER BERNDT seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING ADMISSIONS TAX COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 2:32 p.m. CHAIRMAN O’BRIEN opened a Public Hearing that was <br />continued from January 5, 2016 to consider a proposed Ordinance <br />regarding Admissions Tax and Designation of Revenue. He noted the <br />record was open. <br /> <br />NEIL CAULKINS, DEPUTY PROSECUTOR provided a Staff Report and draft <br />Ordinance which would approve the Admissions Tax and Designation of <br />Revenue. He clarified the exemptions from the tax including <br />purchases of permits from a governmental entity including but not <br />limited to Discover Passes, Groomed Trail Passes and Snow Park <br />Permits; school sponsored events; and events which funds will be <br />donated to a nonprofit organization. <br /> <br />THERE PRESENT & TESTIFYING: JAMIE COLSON, SUNCOUNTRY GOLF COURSE <br />said they generally try to operate 6 months out of the year, but <br />there are many things that can cut their season short including <br />weather, water availability, fire season, etc. and felt it should be <br />a shared responsibility. He noted only 20-25% of their patrons come <br />from out of the County. THERE BEING NO OTHERS REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, <br />THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
