COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />Tuesday 2:00 PM 2015 <br />Board members present: Paul Jewell, Gary Berndt, Obie O'Brien <br />Others: Patti Johnson, Lisa Lawrence, Mickey Webb <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />Meeting called to order at 2:04pm <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />Solid Waste Updates: Patti gave the Board an update that garbage <br />is slow after Christmas. Patti informed the Board that they <br />should have received a letter from Waste Management regarding a <br />rate increase, due to the Landfill raising their rates, and that <br />it doesn't affect us per Contract. She informed the Board that <br />Waste Management would receive a CPI increase the 1St of July as <br />stated in the Contract. <br />Patti informed the Board that Solid Waste is somewhat fully <br />staff now, that Gary Nelson has retired and that Rachel Kane is <br />his replacement. <br />Discussion was held on water preparation in the event of a Flood <br />at the Transfer Station. Patti informed the Board that we are <br />doing the best that we can, keeping snow off of the pad etc., <br />but unfortunately the road is in the floodway and if closure is <br />necessary she would contact them. <br />Maintenance Updates: Patti informed the Board that staff is <br />fighting snow and ice removal. Discussion was held on the fact <br />that staff is doing a good job around the Courthouse, but needs <br />to work harder on the sidewalks surrounding Public Works and <br />providing ice melt for building staff to use if necessary. <br />Discussion was held on the drive thru south of the building and <br />how far the County property actually goes and who is responsible <br />for maintaining it. Further discussion included looking at the <br />rental agreement a copy of which could be obtained from the <br />Auditors Office. <br />Patti informed the Board that she has a meeting scheduled with <br />Paula on Thursday to discuss a plan/policy on preventative <br />
