KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM March 11, 2019 <br />Meeting was called to order at 1:32 pm <br />FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY INSPECTION PROGRESS REPORT <br />Director Carlson presented a progress report on the Fire and <br />Life Safety Inspections since new Fire Marshal, Pat Nicholson <br />started. In 2018, the Fire Marshal's office performed 96 <br />inspections. Year to date, the Fire Marshal has performed 64 <br />inspections. With completing the fire life and safety <br />inspections, he has also been active in the community with <br />demonstrations, fire investigations, while also sitting on the <br />Wildland Urban Interface Committee. Director Carlson is <br />confident that with the new Fire Marshal Deputy starting March <br />25, 2019, the Fire Marshal Office will continue grow and do <br />great work. <br />2020 CENSUS COMPLETE COUNT COMMITTEE <br />Director Carlson requested the board's direction on the 2020 <br />Census Complete Count Committee. Forming this committee would <br />have many benefits. Some of which include, providing population <br />date for land use planning, forecasting future hosing needs, <br />attracting new businesses, and drawing legislative districts and <br />school district boundaries. The board would like to the <br />committee formed of the highest elected official in the <br />jurisdiction. Typically, the committee would consist of 20-50 <br />members. The board directed Director Carlson to compile a list <br />of potential stakeholders and present to them at a later study <br />session. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Meeting adjourn at 1:48 p.m. <br />2019-03-11 MINUTES <br />
