Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Direct that staff prepare grant documents supporting the Chamber of Commerce funding <br />request. <br />BREIFING SUMMARY: <br />•y Earlier this year, the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) approved 0.09 <br />funds (Distressed County) repairing the roof to the business incubator building. <br />The Chamber saved money in the roofing project and requested savings be <br />applied towards replacing roof swamp coolers. <br />Public Works conducted a phone poll of the BoCC and a majority of <br />commissioners agreed to allow swamp cooler replacement. <br />Additional savings from the original award ($16,283.56) are requested to be <br />applied toward replacing the EBDA's "airport building" roof. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Earlier this year the BOCC, following the Conference of Clovernments funding <br />recommendation, award the Chamber of Commerce sufficient funds replacing the roof of <br />its business incubator. Roof repair savings were later applied to replace roof swamp <br />coolers. Funding remains from the original grant award. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The Chamber of Commerce is requesting the BoCC support COG'S funding <br />recommendation and allow the final savings ($16,283.56) from its original 2018 funding <br />award be applied to the EBDA's "Airport Building" for roof replacement. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />Expenditure of the requested $16,283.56 completes the original funding allocation of <br />$53,685. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />PUBLIC WORKS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />
