Road Bridge, Marx Cook continued that approximately four hundred <br />yards of material was removed from upstream, downstream and at the <br />bridge itself in an attempt to open the clearance under the bridge. <br />Mark Cook added that crews were unsuccessful in clearing the <br />obstruction. Mark Cook stated that flows rose and crews retreated <br />from the project. Mark Cook commented that one more attempt will <br />be made to clear the obstruction on Wednesday. Discussion was <br />held. <br />PUBLIC WORKS GRAVEL ROAD GRADING BUSINESS PRACTICES <br />Mark Cook stated that this year has presented a unique set of <br />circumstances in where the weather has been more wet than normal. <br />Mark Cook continued that the wet conditions put the gravel road <br />maintenance behind schedule. Mark Cook added that putting our <br />equipment on the roads would do more harm than good in performing <br />maintenance operations. Mark Cook commented that staff did not <br />communicate the delay to residents of these roads and the <br />complaints that were received caused staff to acknowledge that an <br />internal discussion of looking at gravel road maintenance <br />practices. Mark Cook added that the Maintenance Manager explained <br />that the left over deicer product from winter maintenance is <br />utilized on gravel roads as a base stabilizer. Mark Cook continued <br />that he plans on adding a proposal to the next budget cycle to <br />perform this action on the gravel roads in upcoming maintenance <br />cycles. Discussion was held. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE 2017 KITTITAS COUNTY <br />ROAD SAFETY PLAN <br />Lucas Huck presented the final draft of the 2ui7 Kittitas County <br />Road Safety Plan for Board consideration. Lucas Huck stated that <br />after compiling the data within the plan, eight projects were <br />identified with a county wide safety improvement project being at <br />the top of the list. Discussion was held. Chairman Jewell called <br />for a motion to approve Resolution 2017-092 to Adopt the 2017 <br />Kittitas County Road Safety Plan with amendments as discussed. <br />Vice -Chairman Osiadacz made a motion to approve Resolution 2017-092 <br />as amended with Commissioner O'Brien seconding said motion with <br />discussion. Motion passed 3-0. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A REVISED GROUND LEASE BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS AND THE KITTITAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE FOR LOT 2 OF <br />THE BOAT RAMP SHORT PLAT, VANTAGE WASHINGTON <br />Mark Cook gave background on the project and reported that the <br />previous lease that was approved by the Board of County <br />Commissioners contained errors in the square footage. Mark Cook <br />continued that those errors have been corrected and an updated <br />2017-05-22 MINUTES <br />
