KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT
STUDY SESSION DATE: September 24, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Establish Meadow
Way onto the Public Road Network
BACKGROUND: The Easton Flats Short Plat (200501240029) dedicated a 60
foot roadway tract to Kittitas County. Prior to final plat, a
road was constructed to public standards within the
dedicated tract. Recently, the developer (Easton Ridge
Land Company, Inc.) requested Public Works bring the
roadway onto the County public road network. A
temporary turnaround is now in place at the end of the 0.17
mile roadway and has been accepted by Public Works. The
roadway is intended to serve the Marian Meadows long
plat.
Public Works has been made aware of a private dispute
between Easton Ridge Land Company, Inc. and adjoining
land owners over the use of the roadway. It is Public
Works understanding that there is no legal impediment to
establishing the road onto the County road network.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to establish Meadow Way onto the
public road network.
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Vicinity Map
LEAD STAFF: Mark R. Cook, Director
