KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: August 27, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Chair's Signature <br />on Jacobs Engineering Group Task Order No. 16 — <br />Fairview Road Culvert Replacement <br />BACKGROUND: During a routine bridge inspection in late 2017, significant <br />deterioration of two separate bridge abutment walls caused <br />Public Works to install temporary steel plates spanning the <br />bridge. Subsequent evaluation of stream channel alignment <br />suggests re -alignment of Coleman Creek is desired along <br />with bridge replacement. Jacobs Engineering Group is <br />offering structural engineering, hydraulic, geologic and <br />environmental supports services implementing necessary <br />repairs. The cost of design services is $222,025. Public <br />Works will design all civil engineering elements of the <br />project. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Jacobs Engineering Group <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Authorize the Chair's signature <br />on Jacobs Engineering Group Task Order No. 16. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Task Order No. 16 <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
