KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM August 13, 2018 <br />Board members present: Vice -Chairman Obie O'Brien; Commissioner <br />Cory Wright <br />Others: Mark Cook, Candie Leader, Public Works; Kayla Bonar, <br />Daily Record; Theo Leonard, Encompass Engineering and Surveying <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHAIR SIGNATURE ON <br />THE LOCAL AGENCY FEDERAL AID PROJECT PROSPECTUS FOR THE <br />UNIVERSITY WAY AND REECER CREEK ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT <br />At 1:32 pm Vice -Chairman Obie O'Brien opened the Public Works <br />Study Session. Mark Cook presented a Resolution Authorizing <br />Chair Signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project <br />Prospectus for the University Way and Reecer Creek Road <br />Intersection Improvement Project. Mark Cook stated that this <br />project is for the placement of a traffic signal at this <br />intersection and this starts the design phase. Mark Cook <br />continued that this area is set to be annexed into the City of <br />Ellensburg and once that is complete the project will be handed <br />over to the City of Ellensburg for completion. Vice -Chairman <br />O'Brien called for a motion. Commissioner Wright made a motion <br />to approve Resolution 2018-128 Authorizing Chair Signature on <br />the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />University Way and Reecer Creek Road Intersection Improvement <br />Project. Vice -Chairman O'Brien seconded the motion. Motion <br />passed. <br />ROAD STANDARDS REVIEW COMMITTEE <br />Mark Cook reported that staff has been working on an update to <br />the current road standards and recently at Board direction put <br />out a press release calling for interested parties to apply to <br />serve on a review committee. Mark Cook stated that staff <br />received one (1) response from Encompass Engineering and <br />Surveying and is requesting direction to solicit stakeholders <br />directly to serve. Staff was given direction to directly <br />solicit interested stakeholders for the committee. Mark Cook <br />thanked Encompass Engineering and Surveying for their <br />2018-08-13 MINUTES <br />
