2018-08-07 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 1:00 P.M. AUGUST 7, 2018 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman, Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie <br />O’Brien and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Lisa Young, <br />HR Director/Interim Event Center Director; Patti Johnson, Solid <br />Waste Director/Project Manager and Jenny & Denny Kuenzli, Owners of <br />Anytime Fitness and one member of the public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING LEASE PROPOSAL – ATF EVENT CENTER <br /> <br />At 1:00 p.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to receive a <br />proposal from Denny and Jenny Kuenzli, Owners of Anytime Fitness <br />(ATF). <br /> <br />Denny & Jenny Kuenzli, Owners of Anytime Fitness presented the Board <br />with an offer letter asking the Board to consider selling the <br />Bowling Alley to them as they are in need of more space for the <br />members. They discussed their concerns for purchase vs. leasing as <br />well as interest in renting the parking lot behind the bowling alley <br />on a monthly basis, excluding the week of the County Fair. <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien and Commissioner Wright expressed that they <br />were not interested in selling the property but leasing it was <br />definitely an option. There was discussion on repairs needed and who <br />would be responsible for them. Chairman Osiadacz indicated that she <br />wanted more time to think about the proposal. <br /> <br />The Kuenzli’s were asked to bring forward a proposal to reflect a <br />lease and the Board would meet again to discuss and consider it. <br /> <br />The Kuenzli’s asked to see the building again and to see what had <br />been proposed through the process with Mel’s Bowl. Patti Johnson, <br />Solid Waste Director/Project Manager stated that she would collect <br />the information from previous discussions and with the Mel’s Bowl <br />group and assist Mr. & Mrs. Kuenzli in getting another tour, set up <br />with County Staff. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 1:36 p.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br />
