KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />PUBLIC WORKS — BOARD OF COUNTY <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: July 23, 2018 <br />TOPIC: Central Washington University MOA Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Provide Direction on Formulating the County's Four <br />Member MOA Team <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Mark R. Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Provide direction to staff formulating the County's four member MOA team. <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />• The recently approved MOA with Central Washington University (CWU) <br />requires each entity nominate four members to conduct the identified tasks in the <br />MOA <br />• Commissioner O'Brien suggests the following representation: County <br />Commissioner, General Aviation, Business/Aviation and Fire/Life/Safety <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The recently adopted MOA with CWU exploring co-sponsorship of Bowers Field <br />requires each side develop a four member team supporting the effort. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The amount of work identified in the MOA is substantial and time is of the essence. <br />Once the teams are in place, the work contained in the MOA can begin. The proposed <br />four member team excludes current employees managing the airport.
