KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM July 9, 2018 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice -Chairman <br />Obie O'Brien; Commissioner Cory Wright <br />Others: Sara Folk, Candie Leader, Public Works; Dan Carlson, <br />Steph Mifflin, Lindsey Ozbolt, Mike Flory, Community Development <br />Services; Kayla Bonar, Daily Record; Three(3) members of the <br />public <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE 2018 BOWERS FIELD <br />RUNWAY 7/25 PAVEMENT BREAK PROJECT AND AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PUBLIC WORKS TO SIGN SAID CONTRACT <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />Sara Folk presented the resolution for consideration stating <br />that Public Works invested $24,000 out of the Airport fund to <br />produce the plans and specifications for the project and a match <br />requirement of approximately $17,000. Sara Folk continued that <br />the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is financing the <br />remainder of the project in an approximate amount of $154,000. <br />Sara Folk stated that the FAA has approved the submitted bid <br />amount. Discussion was held. Commissioner O'Brien made a <br />motion to approve Resolution 2018-113 to Award the 2018 Bowers <br />Field Runway 7/25 Pavement Break Project and Authorize the <br />Director of Public Works to Sign said Contract. Commissioner <br />Wright seconded the motion. Further discussion was held. <br />Motion passed. <br />UPPER COUNTY TRAFFIC TASK FORCE PROPOSAL <br />Sara Folk gave background on the ongoing speeding and congestion <br />issues in the Upper County due to the ongoing construction on I- <br />90. Sara Folk stated that after a recent community meeting <br />staff is suggesting putting together a community task force to <br />come up with possible solutions. Sara Folk presented the task <br />force proposal for Board of County Commissioner consideration. <br />Discussion was held. Commissioner Wright inquired as to adding <br />the City of Roslyn to the task force since they are impacted by <br />2018-07-09 MINUTES <br />
