for Sunnyview Lane and then subsequently hold a
hearing to consider taking the remaining roadways
on to the County system.
The developer requested and was provided said
application on October 31St, 2017. On December 12th,
2017 the developer expressed that they felt the roads
should have been adopted on system automatically
as soon as the plat was finalized and referenced
verbiage in the 2015 Kittitas County Road Standards.
It was explained to the developer that the plat is
vested to the 2004 standards therefore language in the
2015 standards is not applicable and the process that
has been outlined is the only avenue Public Works is
aware of to bring the roadways on to the County
system.
On December 13th, 2017 the developer reached out to
Public Works requesting that discussion be held with
the BOCC to detect if the intent of the language for on
system road establishment in the 2015 standards was
intended to apply retroactively to all older plats. The
thought is that this would save staff and
commissioner time and alleviate the on system
County road establishment fee that was defined as
very expensive.
The developer would like to resolve these roadway
establishments by use of a policy or administratively.
Without direction from the BOCC altering staffs
understanding of the code Public Works believes the
process outlined must be followed to consider the
establishment of the remaining roadways within
Currier Creek Estates onto the County system.
INTERACTION: Public Works
ATTACHMENTS: Plat Map for discussion
LEAD STAFF: Lucas Huck
County Engineer
