PERMIT STATE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION COMMISSIONERS Commissioner Jewell moved to approve and authorize the Chair to sign a Winter Recreation Use Permit for the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission for public access trail used for cross country skiing; snowshoeing; and snowmobiling. Commissioner O’Brien seconded. Motion carried 3-0. LETTER KATHLEEN HORNER/LTAC COMMISSIONERS Commissioner O’Brien moved to approve a letter recognizing Kathleen Horner for her service as a member of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. Commissioner Jewell seconded. Motion carried 3-0. At 10:00 a.m. the Board recessed to hold their Department Head meetings scheduled for 9:40 a.m. and would reconvene at the conclusion of those. At 10:25 a.m. the Board reconvened back into their Office Administration meeting. OTHER BUSINESS- Chairman Osiadacz said she had met with Hilary Franz, Department of Natural Resources and they may be providing a letter to the County relating to solar on State lands. She also reported getting a call from The Nature Conservancy requesting her to attend the State Recreation Caucus at 7:00 a.m. on February 15, 2018 in Olympia. Commissioner O’Brien provided a draft Commercial Building Lease for the Board’s information. He indicated SPOKC is interested in renting approximately 1,000 feet of space at the Morris-Sorensen building and reviewed their proposal. Commissioner O’Brien was directed to see if they would be able to provide adequate insurance, etc. and report back to the Board of County Commissioners for a possible Special Meeting to discuss a possible proposal from SPOKC and to take a look at the Veteran’s Lease for language.
