2018-01-08 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 3:30 P.M. JANUARY 8, 2018 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie <br />O’Brien; Commissioner Paul Jewell. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Dawn Bass, <br />Community Builders President and HopeSource Representatives Andrew <br />Lyons & John Raymond. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING UPPER YOUTH ACTIVITIES PROGRAM COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 3:30 p.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to discuss <br />funding options for the Upper County Youth Activities Program with <br />Dawn Bass. <br /> <br />Dawn Bass, Community Builders President explained the Summer Program <br />funding is in need of assistance. She explained what the Community <br />Builders Summer Program does for the youth of Upper County as well <br />as their programs offered during the school year and shared success <br />stories. She stated that over the years they have had many different <br />funding sources and at one time the County donated. She stated that <br />she is seeking $10,000.00 a year for the next 3 years (formal letter <br />submitted). She reviewed groups she has met with asking for <br />assistance and reviewed how much the program costs. She stated that <br />the program is for kids from the age of 10 up to 18 (if still in <br />school) are welcome and if they are out of school and 18 then they <br />can volunteer with a background check. <br /> <br />There was discussion on whether or not there is any charge from kids <br />to join the program or if family income is considered. The Board <br />discussed potential funding sources and asked Ms. Bass to get the <br />following items submitted to the office for their review and further <br />discussion: financial report and statements for the past couple of <br />years; 501©3 proof; Bylaws and a Board roster. <br /> <br />The Board indicated that they are supportive of the program however <br />they just need to research funding options. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br />
