Motion carried 2-0. <br /> <br />DOCKET ITEM 7 – DOG CONTROL: <br /> <br />DR. FLEMMING spoke in favor of the proposal and suggested adding <br />cats. She reviewed different portions of the language that the Board <br />should consider changing prior to approval which may help make it <br />clearer. LIZ WHITAKER, PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT/COUNTY RESIDENT said <br />she hadn’t seen the final language and noted there’s an RCW in place <br />that requires rabies vaccinations. She suggested having Dr. Larsen <br />review the language relating to rabies before Board approval. <br />MARLENE PFIEFER said she does not walk near her home anymore due to <br />a pack of dogs that lives in the area and they have gotten out <br />before. She said they have reported it to the Sheriff’s office and <br />there is a lot of concern by residents. BREANNE ELSEY said she lives <br />in a home with 17 German Shepard’s nearby and expressed concerns for <br />her family due to the lack of a dog law. She indicated it would be a <br />tool for the Sheriff’s Department to use if the Board were to <br />approve a dog law. She provided correspondence from Dr. Elise Herman <br />relating to the long lasting physical and emotional impacts of dog <br />attacks. <br />
