Commissioner
Osiadacz stated currently, COG is clerked by a CDS employee and that communication goes through that CDS employee to
the Public Works staff when they have questions regarding the .09 funding applications and money, and then back through
the CDS employee to COG. Commissioner Osiadacz stated it would be more efficient if Public Works took over the COG
meetings regarding the .09 funding process. Luke Huck stated Director Cook was on board with Public Works being more
active in the COG during the .09 application process. Commissioner Jewell gave a number of reasons for why CDS should
remain the clerk for COG and stated he doesn't want to make a routine change because of a couple issues.
Board Direction: None.
Comerehensive Plan Update.
Dan Carlson gave a status update on the Comprehensive Plan. Dan stated there has been a lot of turnover in the last few
months and that current staff is going back through the Comprehensive Plan to make sure the County is still on track. Dan
stated the County has had meetings with the working group that have gone really well, but that the County needs to take a
step back to make sure the work is in order. Dan gave a timeline for picking the working group back up and for when the new
consultant will be at the County to meet with the Board. Commissioner Osiadacz asked if the County was still on track for
adoption of the plan or if we would need to ask for an extension. Dan stated the plan is supposed to be done by June 30`h,
according to RCW. Dan stated we may not be eligible for an extension. There was discussion about the ramifications of being
out of compliance.
Pat Deneen stated he sat on a previous land use committee for at least eight years. Pat stated the County seems to be trying to
update the entire Comprehensive Plan and that the County should take a limited approach at this time to remain in
compliance due to the staff and consultant turn -over.
Board Direction: None.
X U
Dan Carlson, Director
X
Paul Jewell, Chairrnan
COMMUNITY PLANNING • BUILDING INSPECTION • PLAN REVIEW • ADMINISTRATION • PERMIT SERVICES • CODE ENFORCEMENT
