2017-12-06 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />WEDNESDAY 1:00 P.M. DECEMBER 6, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell (arrived at 1:08); Vice <br />Chair Laura Osiadacz & Commissioner Obie O’Brien <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Joann Schaan, <br />Developmental Disabilities Coordinator; Kasey Knutson, Health <br />Promotion Supervisor; Robin Read, Public Health Administrator; Terry <br />Archer, Yakima Specialties, Inc.; Rolf & Michelle Williams, Kittitas <br />County Parent to Parent and one member of the public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING DD UPDATE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 1:05 p.m. Vice-Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting with <br />County Staff to receive presentations from Yakima Specialties and <br />the Parent to Parent/Parent Coalition. <br /> <br />Terry Archer, Supported Employment Director/CARF Surveyor with <br />Yakima Specialties, Inc. (YSI) presented a brochure on what services <br />and opportunities they provide. <br /> <br />Joann Schann, DD Coordinator Kittitas County explained that YSI has <br />responded to the RFQ they recently put out and it’s working its way <br />through the process and will be added to the list of providers. She <br />stated they are very excited to have this provider added. <br /> <br />The Board asked questions of Ms. Archer and thanked her for coming <br />in and presenting. <br /> <br />Michelle & Rolf Williams, Coordinator’s for Kittitas County Parent <br />to Parent/Parent Coalition presented handouts on their programs <br />which explains who they serve and what their mission is. <br /> <br />The Board asked questions of Ms. Williams and thanked her for coming <br />in and presenting. They offered to bring forward concerns/issues to <br />Olympia if needed to try and aide in their group’s success. <br /> <br />Joann Schann, DD Coordinator presented the Board with the DD Program <br />update in advance and the Board thanked her for that. They noted <br />they had no questions. They stated that they were made aware that <br />Ms. Schann was leaving the County and thanked her for all the <br />progress she has accomplished in her role and stated that they were <br />sorry to see her go. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
