Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Affirm staffs decision contracting for architectural support developing a site <br />development plan for Upper County shop. <br />BREIFING SUMMARY: <br />• Staff desires moving forward developing the recently acquired Upper County <br />Shop Property <br />• Sufficient budget remains from 2017 acquisition supporting architectural support <br />services <br />• Defining site layout now facilitates construction of a sand shed in the 2018 budget <br />• Understanding overall site development issues allows intelligent decisions about <br />where to site the sand shed <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Recently, Public Works (PW) closed on property supporting relocation of the Upper <br />County Shop. Ongoing structural issues, limited storage space and small equipment bays <br />support relocation. The site is marginally wooded at this time. The parcels are currently <br />zoned residential. PW has an open professional services agreement with KPG for civil <br />engineering support services. KPG offers architectural support services as a portion of <br />their civil engineering division. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Staff has met with KPG architects and has a final scope of work and fee estimate (Exhibit <br />1) for developing a site development plan for the new shop facility. <br />Staff envisions developing the site is a phased manner: <br />Phase 1: Site Development <br />o Planning site layout <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />PUBLIC WORKS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />
