KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE. April 10, 2017 <br />ACTION REQUESTED Resolution to Award the Bid for the <br />Manufacture and Supply of Aggregate for <br />Bituminous Surface Treatment for One (1) <br />Calendar Year following Contract Execution. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works goes out to bid for <br />the furnishing of Maintenance Rock Materials <br />in accordance with specifications. This year our <br />Aggregate contract was re -worked resulting in <br />a 30% increase in costs from last year. This <br />year's contract adds material testing and <br />delivery costs. The net impact is expected to <br />result in a minimal cost increase. Bid packets <br />are sent out to all local businesses in order to <br />give equal opportunity. <br />Bids were opened March 30, 2017, at 2:00 <br />p.m. in the Public Works Department. <br />One (1) bid was received and deemed <br />responsive. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve Resolution to Award the Bid <br />for the Manufacture and Supply of Aggregate <br />for Bituminous Surface Treatment for One (1) <br />Calendar Year following Contract Execution to <br />Ellensburg Cement Products. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Bid Tab <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook <br />Director of Public Works <br />
