KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: July 24, 2017 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Consider a Resolution to Award Additional <br />Distressed County Sales & Use Tax Funding to <br />the City of Cle Elum for Emergency Repairs for <br />the Cle Elum Downtown Bathrooms Restoration <br />Project in the amount of $25,000.00. <br />BACKGROUND: In iggg Legislature passed RCW 82.14.370 Sales <br />& Use Tax for Public Facilities in rural Counties. <br />These funds are for the purpose of financing <br />public facilities in rural counties. <br />The Conference of Governments (COG) has been <br />charged with the review and scoring of the <br />applications and submitting their <br />recommendations to the Board of County <br />Commissioners for approval. <br />INTERACTION: <br />On March 15, 2017, the C.O.G met to review the <br />application submitted and agreed to fund the <br />Emergency Repairs for the Cle Elum Downtown <br />Bathrooms Restoration Project application <br />submitted by the City of Cle Elum in the amount <br />Of $25,000.00 from the Public Facilities Fund <br />balance. <br />Public Works; Conference of Governments <br />RECOMMENDATION: Move to Approve & Sign Resolution to Award the <br />Distressed Counties Sales & Use Tax Funding in <br />the amount of $25,000.00 for Emergency <br />Repairs for the Cle Elum Downtown Bathrooms <br />Restoration Project to the City of Cle Elum as <br />recommended by the Conference of <br />Governments. <br />HANDLING: Return 1 original to Public Works; <br />Copy to Kittitas County Auditor Finance <br />Department <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Application; March 15, 2017 COG <br />Meeting Minutes <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director of Public Works <br />
